For quite some time I was planning to visit Chattarpur Temple. The location is not far off from my house in Gurugrama. Just 14, 15 km. Very close to Qutub Minar too. (4 km) in Mehruli, south of Delhi. So last Sunday morning I made it.
It is a huge 60 acre complex with multiple temples, Yagnashala, lungar hall etc.
The temple complex opens at 0700 and I think closes at 0700 in the evening. During special occasions like during Navratri, the timings will be different.
Main deity is Katyayani. There are other temples for Shiva, Rama, Hanuman, every one. There are schools, diagnostic center, Gurukul, training center etc inside the complex. The trust does lot of social services as well.
Huge building and nice architecture. If I closely observe it resembles Akshardham Temple in some way.
Well, Akshardham is marvellous and well maintained and provides completely different divine experience and no match.
This temple complex is somehow looks not well organised, looks more Sarkari somehow. I do not know why. I may be completely wrong.
Beautiful architecture though. But marred by electrical cables and sign boards laid in a very shabby and haphazard manner, takes out the aesthetic of the majestic structure. The concerned people should look into and can make it more beautiful.
I went in the morning anticipating favourable lighting condition and less crowd. I could get some good images. By the way I had to photoshop quite a lot to remove the shabby cables and sign boards.
Enjoy the images
