One morning with Painted Storks at Sultanpur Birds Sanctuary.

Friend of mine and I were planning to visit some place for photography for quite some time. Just that we could not meet up for one or the other reason.

Before last week, we got in touch again and we zeroed in on Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary AKA Sultanpur National Park.

The place is good for birding. It closes from June to September. So November was a good time.

Plenty of large birds. Stork, Ibis, Heron........

Painted Stork are a large migratory birds. they grow as tall as 1 mtr or so. They are fun to watch when they glide past quite close.

Though there were many other big birds like, Black headed Ibis, Grey Heron, I just focused on Painted Storks.

They pluck the tree twigs to build the nest and then get married and raise a family and move on, year on year.

Here are some pictures of them nesting, parenting.

You may visit the following web site for more info on the national park. I just found it informative.
